A thorough eye exam is much more than just looking at an eye chart. Our team of doctors has the training and experience to carefully evaluate your eye health using the most advanced technology to provide the following services:

An in depth visual and medical history review to discuss all of your individual visual needs. We understand the importance of listening to our patients. We want to make sure all of your questions are answered.

Refraction and the determination of the most appropriate prescription.

Testing of eye alignment, visual tracking, focusing skills and depth perception. This is especially important in children because 80% of learning depends on visual skills. Visual efficiency and binocularity maximizes performance in school and in sports.

Evaluation of Computer Vision Syndrome for computer users with symptoms.

Measurement of the intraocular pressures as well as other glaucoma testing.

Careful evaluation of the eyes through a microscope to detect any subtle eye health problems.

Dilated examination of the retina and surrounding tissues, which allows us to detect early signs of many serious health problems.

Additional testing if indicated such as scanning laser ophthalmoscopy, ocular photography and visual field testing.

Contact Lenses:

We offer complete contact lens care which includes fitting, evaluating and prescribing of all major brands of soft and gas permeable contact lenses as well as many specialty lenses. We thoroughly educate our patients in the proper handling & care techniques to maintain ocular health as well as long-term wearing comfort. We choose from many different contact lens materials and designs to selectively fit our patients with the best contact lens based on their individual eye shape, tear consistency and visual need. Our specialty lenses include bifocal contact lenses and toric contact lenses for astigmatism.

Dry Eye Management:

Dry eyes or ocular surface disease is an increasing eye health concern which can cause significant and annoying eye discomfort. We can measure your tear volume and evaluate your tear consistency. Contributing causes can be environmental factors, nutrition, chronic inflammation, aging changes and medication side effects. There are many new treatment modalities for dry eyes which we can prescribe to provide relief.

Eye Disease and Special Testing:

Our team of doctors are fully licensed and trained to diagnose and treat many types of eye diseases such as pink eye, styes, allergic conjunctivitis, corneal abrasion, iritis, and glaucoma. The advanced technology which allows us to diagnose conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and age related macular degeneration includes some of the following equipment:

OCT

Optical Coherence Tomography, "OCT" for short, is a non-invasive high definition imaging technology similar to an MRI. It allows early detection of macular holes, pre-retinal membranes, macula swelling in diabetic retinopathy, changes due to age related macular degeneration and even optic nerve damage from glaucoma.

Retinal Photography and Anterior Segment Photography

In treating many diseases it is important to keep exact records of many small changes in the condition over time. The best way to do this especially for conditions inside the eye is to photograph the inner structures of the eye such as the retina, vitreous and optic nerve. This allows us to better evaluate and monitor conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma and retinal changes due to stroke or high blood pressure. External eye images are helpful in the management of ocular inflammation and injuries.

Laser Surgery Co-management:

If you are interested in laser surgery, our doctors can determine if you are a good candidate. The doctors perform the pre-surgery evaluation as well as the post-operative care. We educate our patients about laser surgery, potential risk and side effects and possible and possible visual outcome to assure that the surgical results meet your expectations.
