It's Back-to-School Checkup Time |
|
We suggest you schedule regular dental checkups around the start of the school year so that it becomes a routine part of fall's fresh start.
For those who experience stress and anxiety with dental visits, here are a few tips:
• Talk to our team about your feelings. Sometimes just saying it out loud can reduce anxiety. We have many coping strategies!
• Bring the iPod with your favorite music.
• Plan a time when you aren't feeling rushed.
Parents:
If you have teenagers who need wisdom teeth removed, now is the time. End of summer is normally a busy time as many people put off wisdom tooth removal till late August and early September. Don't get caught in the rush, call today!
Got Benefits?
Next month we will discuss remaining dental benefits: with a little careful planning you can maintain excellent oral health and maximize your insurance benefits. |

Toothy Tid-Bits: Save a Heart, Floss a Tooth
|
There is a strong link between gum disease and heart disease. Studies show that specific bacteria associated with inflammation in the mouth have been found in inflamed arteries. The bacteria travel from the mouth to the arteries and elsewhere. Reducing bacteria in the mouth helps reduce the bacteria near the heart. Most gum disease starts in-between the teeth, so floss those teeth and you'll have a healthy smile as well as a lower risk of developing heart disease. Believe me, your heart will thank you – one beat at a time!
