Tis the Season! |
|
This holiday season our office has decided that we really wanted to do something to help give back to our community. We looked into various organizations and decided that this year we would do something to help the foster children here in Jackson County.
There are 500 kids in the foster system just in our county alone! And most of these kids go into the system with only the clothes on their backs. We asked some social workers what the kids needed most and then made it our goal to gift a pair of socks and an oral hygiene kit to every single foster child in Jackson County, and also try to gift as many shoes as we can as well.
We will have socks and shoes donation boxes in our waiting room until December 20th and if you, or anyone that you may know would like to help us reach our goal feel free to stop by and drop off donations any time during our normal business hours. Here's a list of what we are looking for:
New gender neutral socks for kids age 0 - 17 years old
New shoes for boys and girls sizes 3 toddler on up
Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity. These children have been through some horrible situations and pain in their short lives and the joy and hope these small gifts may bring could be life changing for them.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a blessed day and safe journeys for you travelers out there.

DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back |
We just learned about this event! You can dispose of expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs locally! Twice a year the DEA sponsors a Take Back day nationwide. BUT! If you missed the date in October (we did!) the next Take Back date is April 27, 2019.
According to the DEA, at the October 27, 2018 Take Back event 5,839 sites collected 457 tons of medication nation wide. That was the 16th such Take Back event. And in total 5,439 tons have been collected since the Take Back launched!

The Effects of Not Flossing Enough Grow Over Time
|
It is one thing to forget to floss now and again. However, studies have shown that nearly a third of adults forgets to floss altogether. This is a problem as it can affect the health of your mouth in a very profound way. The longer you go without flossing properly, the more plaque builds up between your teeth. This can lead to cavities, gum disease, and if left alone long enough, even tooth loss. Call us today to let us take a good look between your teeth. If there are any problems, we can treat them now before they become even larger problems.
